A confident result starts with two measurements: the furniture the artwork must relate to, and the clear wall zone it must physically fit inside. Use both before choosing a panel or a set.
Measure two different widths
- Furniture width
- Use the desk, bed or sofa as the visual reference. This tells you how much presence the artwork needs.
- Clear wall zone
- Measure the unobstructed width and height between corners, doors, shelves and other architectural features. This is the hard physical limit.
Compare the total width of the arrangement—not only one panel—with the furniture below it. Viewing distance, surrounding objects and the energy you want can all change the final choice.
A single vertical Huemna panel can intentionally read understated above wide furniture. If it feels too quiet, keep the artwork you like and build a pair or trio rather than forcing one panel to do the work of an arrangement.
Starting points for common furniture
- Desk · about 140 cm
- L or XL gives a restrained single-piece result. A pair of L panels creates a stronger, more balanced span.
- Bed · about 160 cm
- XL works as an understated single anchor. A pair of L panels moves closer to the balanced starting range.
- Sofa · about 220 cm
- A pair of XL panels or a trio of L panels gives the arrangement enough width to relate to the sofa.
- Open wall
- There is no furniture ratio to follow. Use the clear wall zone, normal viewing position and the tape test below.

The five-minute tape test
- Mark the centre of the furniture and the full clear wall zone.
- Use low-tack tape to outline the exact outside dimensions of the selected panel. For a set, mark every panel and the gaps between them.
- Step back to the normal entrance and seating position. Check whether the arrangement feels connected to the furniture rather than floating alone.
- Look once in daylight and once under evening light. The glossy glass surface reflects its real environment, so the brightest window or lamp matters.
- Confirm the exact selected variant dimensions and mounting guidance before drilling.
